Disney Day 2

Michael's mom sprained her knee getting on It's a Small World at the end of the first day so she kept her knee elevated and iced until lunch time. Michael, the kids, and I took advantage of our magic hour at Disneyland before the park opened and were able to get three rides in during the magic hour after riding the monorail into the park from Downtown Disney. Then we headed over to California Adventure and spent most of the day there. The kids were wiped out again and both fell asleep while we were at dinner. We tucked them into bed and left them with Abuelito and Abuelita while Michael, Ludy, and I watched the California Adventure night show World of Color- Season of Light and the closed down Disneyland with a few rides on the Matterhorn.

Autopia was a must for Tyler- this ranks at
about #3 on his list of favorite rides

Daphne was bummed she still can't reach the gas pedal
but was more than happy to steer

When we were at Disneyland two years ago the tea cups was
his favorite ride. It slid to #2 this time after riding Mater's
Junkyard Jamboree at California Adventure

We caught the horse-drawn trolley from Sleeping Beauty's
castle to the front of the park. It was fun to see the throngs of
people clear the way for the horse while we relaxed.

Tyler's favorite ride

As fans of the Cars movie, we were all really
impressed with all of the Carsland attractions

Goofing around with Abuelito & Abuelita

Despite the cooler weather, the kids wanted to get splashed by
passing rafts on Grizzly River Run. Nobody else wanted to get
wet so Ludy and I rode the raft with Tyler. The 8-year old girl
in line behind us was astonished we hadn't brought ponchos.
Boy did that girl know what she was talking about!

We all enjoyed the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.

Ludy and I had a little more time finding our footing on the
nets than the kids did. It was steep in some locations.

The ladies and Abuelito enjoyed the live Frozen musical, which
condenses the movie down to an hour. The signing and acting
were great and the special effects were amazing. Every time
the audience would clap at the end of a scene, Daphne would
tell Ludy and me, "That's not the end." Spoiler alert: towards
the end when the characters fear that Anna is dead, Daphne said
rather loudly, "Anna is unfreezing!"

While we were at Frozen, Michael and Tyler
rode all the rides in A Bug's Land.

Spinning away on the Ladybug Boogie

Daphne joined a street dance party in Carsland

The Paint the Night Parade was really cool.
This picture doesn't do justice to how big Mack
truck is. The parade was the last thing the
kids did before falling asleep at dinner.

World of Color - Season of Light was at the top of Ludy's list
and Michael and I dragged her back for it at 10:15 even though
she was tired. And she was glad we did. They used water, lights,
and video for a holiday-themed show.

Wearing the kids' glow jewelry and waiting in line to ride the
Matterhorn bobsleds. When you are not being scared by the
recurring Yeti or deep inside the Matterhorn, there are
great views of Disneyland.
