Angel Fire- Day 1

The drive from Santa Fe to Angel Fire was really pretty. We drove through mountainous areas and there were also some canyons formed by the Rio Grande River. We were a little nervous when we got to Angel Fire and saw the lack of snow still left on the mountain. But the resort had quite a few areas where they still had snow and groomed trails. We were literally at Angel Fire the last weekend they are open for skiing and tubing. The nearby Nordic Center and sled hill had already closed for the season. More than anything Tyler had been looking forward to tubing in the snow so we spent the first afternoon on the tube hill. Daphne just barely met the minimum 42" height requirement for tubing. Daphne got to sit in the tube and get a push from the top while the rest of us rode on our bellies on top of the tube. Tyler was a little disappointed that Michael and I were able to make it to the bottom of the hill faster so we had to remind him that we are a little bigger and so gravity helps us more.

Thankfully there was a magic carpet to get us to the top.
