Swim Lessons

Tyler and Daphne took swim lessons the last two weeks. Tyler did awesome and passed his class with flying colors. He has come a long way with his freestyle and floating. His teacher said he was one of her best students. Tyler is nervous about the next level because they swim long laps. We will probably work on his new skills the rest of this summer and do the next level next summer.

Daphne is not lacking in water confidence but is lacking in focus. She only passed about half the skills in her preschool level swim class. Daphne's teacher said she is fearless, which we already knew from her insisting she can swim and wanting us to not help her much in the water. She gets mad when I grab her in the water but I always think she is sinking! Daphne's teacher said that because Daphne thinks she already knows how to swim, she didn't want to listen to instructions or how to use proper form. Hopefully next summer she will be more mature and more accepting of instruction. The funny thing is that Daphne keeps saying she wants to take swim lessons every day the rest of the summer.
