Camp Tom Wooten

Last weekend was our cub scout pack's fall camp out. There was an 80% chance of thunderstorms in the wee hours of Sunday morning and so we decided just to day trip it on Saturday. It did end up raining pretty heavily for about 2 hours but a lot of people weren't scared off by the water and camped anyway. We had fun exploring. The boys got to take turns shooting BB guns at the fort. We stayed through dinner and part of the campfire festivities before heading out.

Daphne had a blast with all the little sisters

Daphne was so dirty from playing that she
even had dirt caked in the folds of her neck!

Chuck E Cheese

The kids had Columbus Day off of school and so we headed to Chuck E Cheese with some friends.

Hazel's Birthday

We had the pleasure of helping Hazel celebrate her 5th birthday while she was in town.

Hazel had no problem posing for photos.

Penny cozied up to Tyler.

Tyler wasn't sure what to think!

The Oasis

We finally made it to dinner at The Oasis, a long-standing Austin institution overlooking Lake Travis, while Megan and the girls were in town. The kids loved everything about it- the golf cart ride from the parking lot to the restaurant, the amazing views, the food, and of course the balloon animals.

Our nieces pose nicely for photos.

Our kids can't give us a normal face or pose unless heavily bribed!

The restaurant is supposedly the largest in the US and it
actually consists of 3 restaurants in 1 location with tons of
balconies and indoor and outdoor seating.

Soccer Fans

A week ago Tyler had his largest cheering section ever at his soccer game. Brad has been staying with us so he can work at his new job location until his new house is ready. Megan and the girls drove in from New Orleans to avoid potential hurricane impacts (like loss of power while watching a 5-year old and 2-year old). Michael's cousin and two of his aunts were in town for the day and came to the game with Michael's parents.

The big trees near the soccer fields are always a hit
with the siblings while the soccer game is going on.

So many giggles inside the tunnel!

Canoeing

Last Sunday we rented canoes with Tyler's cub scout den at Zilker Park. We mostly canoed in Barton Creek but also ventured onto the Colorado River a little bit. The boys tuckered out after about an hour and then played in the water at Barking Springs afterwards where it is shallow enough to wade in.

Tyler and I made a good team. However, I had a hard time
keeping us straight since we row with different strength.

Geese up close

When I took out my camera to take a photo of the geese, they
started honking because they thought I had bread. Have I
mentioned that birds in close proximity freak me out?
I couldn't put my camera back in my bag fast enough!
