Ski Santa Fe

Ski Santa Fe was less than an hour drive from Sylvia's house and we day-tripped there for a day in the snow. Tyler still remembers snow from Oregon but for Daphne this was her first memorable snow experience. This was also the first time that either kid has been on skis. We just got lift tickets for the beginner lifts (one chair lift, one magic carpet conveyor). Tyler loved skiing and did really well picking up the basic wedge. Daphne took a long time to warm up to the idea but eventually liked the little bunny slope once we found the magic carpet.

Amused by their ski bibs and
ready to get to some snow

The kids were so excited to see snow that
they climbed up the hill in the parking lot
while we were unloading gear.

We liked Ski Santa Fe but because it was spring break in Santa
Fe and for a large portion of Texas, the lift lines were super
long for the beginner chair lift and often took 20-30 minutes.

Tyler's first run down the beginner slope- he was all smiles!

In the morning, Daphne was more interested in playing
in the snow than skiing and so Michael and I took turns
taking Tyler down the beginner slope.

View from the top of the beginner slope- Ski Santa Fe must
manufacture a lot of snow to stay open in the spring!

Magic carpet conveyor
By the time we got Daphne to go on the magic carpet conveyor and try skiing my phone battery died. For her first run Daphne skied the bunny slope between my legs. That built up her confidence and she went down the slope on her own repeatedly after that. Daphne was content with the magic carpet and did not want to ride the chair lift, which was fine since she is such a wiggle worm.
