Checking out all the goodies from the Easter Bunny

More goodies from Abuelito and Abuelita

Who is going to find the most eggs?

My mom made this dress and bonnet
(including the smocking) for me for
Easter when I was a little girl.

Tyler and Daphne surprised Tyler
with the first cascarone (confetti egg)

Balloons over Horseshoe Bay

Saturday we headed to the Balloons over Horseshoe Bay festival and had a really nice afternoon and evening. The weather was perfect and there were enough activities and shows to keep the kids entertained. We caught a magic show, the Safari Greg animal show, a gyrocopter, a motorized hang glider, skydivers, hot air balloons (not in flight), and live music. They do the hot air balloon flights early in the morning.

Four skydivers landed in the main festival field

The evening show was supposed to feature a bunch of hot air
balloons inflated and illuminated at dusk. About 5 or 6 of the
balloons inflated but it was too windy to keep them inflated long.

Tyler liked Purple People Eater.

Since they couldn't illuminate the hot air balloons,
the pilots put on a pyro show instead.

Ed Kowalczyk (former lead singer of Live) put on a fantastic
show to cap off the evening. He played songs off his solo
albums as well as Live albums. Tyler said the concert was his
favorite part of the festival. Daphne liked the animal show best.

Completely wiped out!

Working Out

The park near us just installed new exercise equipment all along the hike and bike trail. Naturally Daphne wanted to check it all out during our bike ride around the park.

Houston Zoo

We stopped in Houston on our way back from New Orleans to see PawPaw and the Houston cousins. We spent the day at the zoo and the 5 kids had so much energy they were like monkeys running around all over the place!

Micah, Daphne, Tyler, Noah, and Damon

How many cousins can we fit in here?

Micah didn't really want to ride in his stroller and so by the
end of our trip the big kids were goofing off in the stroller.
Baby Tyler took a ride on Baby Noah's lap!

China Lights

While in New Orleans, City Park had a really neat China Lights exhibition going on in their botanical garden. We enjoyed a performance (juggling and dance of changing faces), walking through all the illuminated displays, and watching the trains in action in the train garden.

Even though it was still daylight when we arrived,
the kids enjoyed seeing all the animal displays

Daphne liked this duck so much she waited for it to slowly make
its way back around the pond so I could take her photo with it.

The dragon was so long I couldn't fit it into one photo!

Daphne loves butterflies!

Tyler was even wearing the same colors as the praying mantis.

Hangin' Out

Michael and I couldn't get enough Penny time.

Yummy... pink lemonade

This is proof that if you talk too much

he will wrap you in packing tape!
