Flower Mound

Last weekend we went to Flower Mound (north side of Dallas/Ft Worth area) to visit our friends Chris and Angie and meet their 8-month old Quinton. We mostly hung out and caught up but also stopped by Twin Coves, which is a really nice park in Flower Mound on the north side of Grapevine Lake.

Partners in Crime

Brad, Megan, Hazel, and Penny officially moved into their new house in Austin this week and we are excited that they are a short 7-minute drive from our house. Daphne and Hazel are loving all the time they have been spending together and love being silly, getting into mischief, ganging up on Tyler, or trying to evade sweet little Penny who just wants to play with them.

Picking Out a Christmas Tree

Daphne was insistent that Tyler picked out the
tree last year and that it was her turn this year.
Instead, we had to reach family consensus and
that took quite a while.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a busy time at the Hurtado house! The kids had the entire week off of school and we had visits from all the nieces and nephews.

Penny, Hazel, and Daphne could do art projects all day long!

Hazel and Daphne are always up to something silly.

Penny is fond of Uncle Michael.

Little monkeys

Daphne needed help down. I asked if she was
stuck and she replied, "I'm not stuck. I'm just
having trouble getting down."

The turkey legs that Mary sent with my dad were
a hit with the kids. She wrapped rice krispie
treats around chocolate covered pretzel sticks.

The boys, particularly Tyler and Noah,
were all about the video games.

My family is full of foodies so I put them
all to work in the kitchen.

Bryce and Michael keep an eye on the turkey fryer.

You never know where Daphne will ask me to take her photo; although the Target dog is a given.

3rd Grade Performance

A few weeks ago the third grade put on a musical performance about a tour through the rain forest. Tyler did not volunteer for any of the individual speaking or singing parts because he doesn't like being put on the spot but did a great job in the chorus singing and dancing.
