Easter

Checking out their Easter Bunny loot, which was meager
compared to the big baskets of candy Abuelita brought them

Tyler recently lost his second top tooth and
has quite a toothless smile these days
Ed (Michael's cousin) and his wife Andrea held their annual Easter family gathering at their house in San Antonio. Tyler and Daphne had a blast running around playing with their 2nd and 3rd cousins.

Clockwise: Tyler, Bubba, Abby, Elijah, Drew, Emily,
Daphne, Noriah, and Cristian

Daphne used a 1-handed approach
to swing at the piñata

Tyler said he wanted it hard so Ed pulled the
piñata up high a few times

Drew was the last of all the kids to take
swings and was able to bust the piñata open.

Hat Trick

Tyler was on fire at his last soccer game. We lost count but think he scored 4 or 5 goals. He most definitely pulled a hat trick.

Photo Pose Practice

I asked Daphne to smile for a photo at home before taking her to school on picture day. These are the poses she gave me and I'm not sure which pose she did at school for the official photo.

Nothing Matches!

One morning last week I went to check on Tyler before school because he wasn't downstairs yet eating breakfast. I found him in his room wearing nothing but his underwear. Tyler whined, "Nothing matches!" Nevermind that he has a gazillion t-shirts and tons of athletic shorts, many of which are black or dark blue and go with everything. I had to bite my tongue to keep from asking if he was a teenage girl!

Walking Jamie

Crawfish Boil

Brad and Megan brought 80 pounds of crawfish with them from New Orleans for a big crawfish boil. Brad boiled the crawfish in four batches of 20 pounds and they were yummy! We probably polished off about 60 pounds with the help of family and friends of my dad's.

That's 40 pounds of lie crawfish in the cooler.
Tyler helped Uncle Brad clean them.

We held a crawfish race and except for one
that moved about a foot, the rest barely moved.

Teasing Tyler that I was going to
toss him in with the crawfish

Tyler wouldn't touch the crawfish but Daphne showed no fear.

Daphne was the first cousin to hold a crawfish
and Noah decided to follow suit.

with corn, onions, garlic, and potatoes

Noah, Damon, and Micah all ate crawfish and Damon even
learned to peel a few. Tyler finally tried one because his cousins
were eating them. He said it was okay and stopped after one.

Bedtime Stories

We usually try to read to at least 2 of the kids together at bedtime to try and get them to settle down.
