On the Phone
Daphne loves playing with our cell phones, which often makes it difficult to actually make or take a phone call. But she's so cute when she's playing.

"Real" Soccer
Tyler: Let's play real soccer!
Me: What's real soccer?
Tyler: Real soccer is when you try to steal the ball from each other.
I think Tyler is bored with his soccer class since they mostly do drills. We're going to have to find him something with games. Tyler and I played "real" soccer today and he kept talking about points even though we weren't using a goal. When he told me he had 5 points I asked how many points I had. He told me 4. I'm still not sure how he was tallying points but at least it wasn't a shut out!

Little Smartie
Although Daphne still only says a few words and uses a few signs, her comprehension level has been developing rapidly. She follows directions surprisingly well. Today when I told the kids it was time for lunch Daphne headed straight for the bathroom because she knew we were going to wash hands first. It took me a second to figure out why she didn't head straight for her milk at the table.
Siblings
It is fascinating to watch the relationship between Tyler and Daphne develop especially now that Daphne is a lot more physically active, gets into Tyler's stuff, and tries to do everything that Tyler does. For the most part they get along pretty well. But they definitely have their bickering sibling moments too. The other day Tyler was laying on the ground and Daphne tackled him. I believe she was trying to tickle him. Tyler loves to "help" out with Daphne. More often than not he is helpful but sometimes he can be a little rough with Daphne in the process. I watched in amazement today as Daphne stood perfectly still while Tyler wiped her nose with a tissue after I asked him to. She always runs from me when I have a tissue in hand!
I love that there happened to be classical music
playing in the gym when I captured this video of
Tyler and Daphne helping put the play park toys away.
Funny how Tyler never wants to clean up at home!

Miss Fearless
Raising Daphne is not for the faint of heart. I have heard from many people about how fearless younger siblings tend to be and Daphne is definitely proof of that! The other day she finally managed to hoist herself up onto the dresser from the top of Tyler's bed. Luckily I was nearby to grab her. And she can climb onto the couch now. I hovered nearby the other day and witnessed her running, and often stumbling on the cushions and giggling, from one end of our sectional couch to the other.
Sorry Ladies!
Tyler: Does everybody get married?
Teacher: No, not everybody.
Tyler: Do firefighters get married?
Teacher: Some do.
Tyler: I want to be a firefighter when I grow up.
Teacher: Do you want to get married?
Tyler, emphatically: No!
