End of a Soccer Era

The spring soccer season came to a close on Saturday. It was a little bittersweet because it was Tyler's last season playing recreational soccer. In the fall he is going to start playing Junior Academy soccer, which is more competitive and the teams from his league compete against other teams around the Austin metro area. Tyler played with Coach Shawn and his son Gavin the past 8 seasons during the past 4 years. We love Coach Shawn, who has done a fantastic job teaching the boys soccer skills/strategy and good sportsmanship. Although Tyler and Gavin were the last of the original team, Tyler has been playing with the current team members for about the past 2 years. Throughout the past 2 seasons Tyler has also been playing in the league's Friday Night Futbol, which included kids from the rec league and Junior Academy. They played 1v1 and 3v3 mini tournaments each week and Tyler gained confidence and realized that he plays just as well, if not better, than some of the Junior Academy players.
