First Sibling Bath

I prematurely gave Daphne and Tyler their first bath together tonight. Daphne has been sitting up really well on her own and she tries to sit up when she is reclined in the infant tub. However, I forgot how slippery babies are when they first sit in the tub on their own. So I put a raft around Daphne for support so I could finish washing her really quickly. I think we'll use the infant tub a little longer. Tyler liked having the company in the tub.

Janina, Daphne, and I strolled while Michael and Tyler rode their bikes. Janina also got in some jogging alongside Tyler, who loves to race.

Although it was overcast, the weather was actually somewhat warm during the day. That's usually about the best you can hope for on the Oregon coast!

Self-Feeding?

In general Daphne is getting better at holding things. Although I normally like to cuddle with her during a bottle, I got Daphne to hold her bottle for most of her feeding this morning when I was running late and trying to get out the door.

Michael and Tyler did the 6-bridge ride during yesterday's annual Bridge Pedal. Daphne is too small for the bike trailer and so us girls sat out this year. Tyler enjoyed riding in the bike trailer and even dozed off at the end of the ride.

Boys vs. Girls Continued

Tyler has informed us that pink and purple are girl colors. Up until now he had not distinguished gender with any colors and did not mind that his set of plastic bowls included "girly" colors. He told me that Daphne can have his pink bowl and purple bowl.

Bundled Up

A friend recently passed along some of her daughter's clothes for Daphne. I tried on this fleece outfit to see if it will fit Daphne this winter. She reminded me of Maggie Simpson in her star snowsuit. Daphne giggled when I gave her a big hug. I must say she is mighty snuggly in all that fleece!

Partners in Giggles

Tyler and Daphne have been sharing a bedroom since late April. I'm still not sure who wakes up first, but often on weekends we wake up to the sound of the two of them giggling together. Daphne absolutely adores Tyler and Tyler loves making her laugh. Daphne definitely gives Tyler the biggest smiles and laughs.

Second Tooth

Daphne's second tooth on the bottom broke through the gums today. Tyler said that Daphne is like a beaver because beavers only have two teeth on the bottom too.

First Tooth

Daphne's first tooth broke through the gums today. If you look closely at this picture you can see the stub of the tooth on the bottom left. It also looks like the other front bottom tooth will break through the gums soon. We gave Daphne some cold teething rings yesterday and she loved them!

Sitting Up

Daphne has been sitting up on her own without support for short periods of time. It's hard to tell in this photo but she is not leaning back. Of course since Daphne is still learning we have to either surround her by pillows/soft surfaces or have her sit between our legs so we can catch her.
