Karbach

PawPaw and Mary volunteered to watch 6 of the 7 grandkids while us middle-aged folks went to Karbach Brewing for lunch and a tour of the brewery. Penny came with us since she is not quite two years old and needs more supervision than the rest of the grandkids.

Fireworks

There was a big fireworks display near Katy Mills Mall on July 1 and so we celebrated the 4th early.

We need to work on our family selfies!

Bryce lifts Damon up to be king of the hill

Science Museum

We took the kids to the Sugar Land branch of the Houston Museum of Natural Science. They had cool dinosaur exhibits, gemstones, live toads, and lots of hands on kid-friendly physics displays.

Daphne loved seeing the T Rex!

Micah checks out specimens with the microscope.

There was a dig pit with dinosaur fossils where
the kids could pretend to be paleontologists.

The junior dig pit was full of balls. Penny wasn't
so sure about walking in the balls but liked
holding them.

Noah gives Penny a lift to see the coins roll.

At the Pool with the Cousins

The kids would play at the pool all day long if we let them!

Jamie has on Daphne's water hat in hopes
we will take her to the pool.

Daphne loved the slides and raced a few times
with Uncle Bryce and with me

Penelope gets ready to go home
for an afternoon nap

We think Micah set a pool record for the
most times down the frog slide in one day

a lot of Monkey in the Middle with our pool ball

Tyler and Noah are really good at freestyle now

Snack time with PawPaw

Daphne loved all the flags out in the
neighborhood and wanted lots of photos

Rabbits!

My dad and Mary's neighborhood has a rabbit problem. With no predators in the area the rabbits have been multiplying (and eating plants and flowers). We saw rabbits many evenings at dusk. The younger cousins were especially giddy about the rabbit sightings and enjoyed watching them. The kids had a hard time being quiet and so they scared a number of the rabbits too.

Daphne covers her mouth to mask the sounds of her giggles
about the rabbit at the bottom left of this photo

Cousins!

The Hulett cousins were all together in Katy last weekend. Brad and the family came in from New Orleans and we came in from Austin. Bryce is only 20 minutes away from my dad now that my dad and Mary moved to Katy. As always, the cousins had a great time and didn't get nearly enough sleep.

Camp PawPaw- Day 5

Micah loves playing with Tyler and Daphne's
magnetic games in the back of our SUV
On the last day of Camp PawPaw we had an afternoon of water fun in the backyard- slip and slide, water guns, and water balloons. It is pretty amazing how fast the kids burn through a 350-pack of water balloons.

Tyler and Noah were most excited about the water guns
and the water balloon fight.

Snow Cones! Damon skipped the water fun
and watched from the safety of the patio.

Daphne and Micah loved the slip and slide

Damon and Daphne catch up on ZZZs

Love that chicken from Popeye's!
Camp PawPaw finished up with a night at a minor league baseball game. We saw the Sugar Land Skeeters take on and lose to the Long Island Ducks.

Kids got in free if they were wearing a team uniform. Tyler
and Daphne borrowed shirts from their cousins since their
team uniforms were in Austin.

We sat on the grass in the outfield.

The kids played a lot of tag.

Noah rolled down the hill.

There were numerous play structures, a carousel, and a splash
pad in the outfield and with a view of the field.

All of the kids loved climbing on the rock walls
and on the rope walls.

Micah had me spin him again and again.

Daphne was the only one who wanted to do the splash pad.

Skeeter Micah

Daphne and Damon were excited to meet
Skeeter. Micah got close but shied away
from a Skeeter high five and hug.

The week ended with a bang, literally,
with a fireworks show.
