Six Flags

While visiting Chris and Angie we also spent a day at Six Flags over Texas. Even though Tyler is still tall enough for most of the roller coasters, he opted for the less scary rides although he did ride the kiddie coaster with Michael.

Ready for action

This fake horse was more Daphne's pace
than riding Shaq.

Everyone loved the carousel!

Daphne braved the sombrero.

The log flume is always a favorite.

Geronimo!

AGH!

The kids drove this twice so they could each get a turn at
the controls that lets them decide whether to go up or down
while the rocket ships are going around in circles.

Angie and Daphne ready to take off on the swings.

Daphne was the only one who wanted to
get drenched on the bridge by the
Splashdown. Afterwards she managed to
kick her shoe off into the water but
thankfully Chris was able to hop
a fence and fish it out.

Tyler was amused that Michael ended up getting the wettest!

Young driver at the wheel- watch out!

Memorial Day Weekend

We headed up to Flower Mound (Dallas/Ft Worth area) to spend Memorial Day weekend with Chris and Angie.

Daphne posing at a rest area. Later, Michael and Tyler were
mortified when Daphne really needed to potty and we were
nowhere near facilities. We pulled over and I took Daphne off
to the side of the road where she proceeded to pee and poop!

Although Daphne loves horses and was really looking forward
to riding Angie's horse Shaq, she chickened out when she got
up close to him.

Tyler wasn't sure he wanted to ride Shaq so we bribed him
with video games and that did the trick.

Tyler was a little nervous but felt better
with me walking alongside him.

Eeny Meeny Miny Moe

Eeny meeny miny moe
Whoever wrote this poem outta know
Every time Daphne recites it to me
I'm that much closer to insanity!

The eeny meeny miny moe poem is Daphne's favorite form of decision making these days and it's driving me CRAZY because it takes forever to make a decision that should take a split second (e.g. blue or red)!

Dads and Donuts

Since Father's Day falls during the summer, Tyler's school had a Dads & Donuts day last week to celebrate all the dads. Michael couldn't make it so Abuelito went instead.

Wolf Cub

Last week Tyler's cub scout den graduated from Tigers to Wolves. They each entered a British phone booth one by one and came out transformed to their new rank. Okay- so they just switched out their neckerchiefs but the kids thought it was fantastic.

Tyler's last moments as a Tiger cub.

Tyler emerges as a Wolf cub.

The whole den now has Wolf status.

Track and Field Day

Tyler's school had track and field day a few weeks ago. The field was pretty muddy from all the rain but the kids didn't seem to mind.

Daphne's Dance & Gymnastics Show

Daphne's dance/gymnastics class came to a close this week with a show for family and friends.

Ready to go

Daphne chose to play with her tutu instead of doing the tap
dance routine. We were mortified but couldn't stop laughing.

Daphne really did well with the ballet routine, which is funny
because she keeps saying that she likes tap better than ballet.

Daphne is fearless on the high bar!

So proud of her medal!
