Stars and Stripes

With all the Olympics we have been watching there has been a lot of talk about the many countries competing. Daphne told me that America is the best country. When I asked her why she thought that she said it is because our flag has one star for every state.

Daphne's Girl Scout troop recently got together to learn about fire safety. At the end of the session they got to make s'mores and hot chocolate and earned a cute S'mores and Songs badge.

School Fun Run

Tyler and Daphne's school recently held their annual Fun Run to raise money for their technology program. This year each group got one hour to race instead of one and a half hours. Daphne completed 6 laps and Tyler was bummed he only got to 12 laps because last year he completed 18 laps in the longer time frame. They both still did great and did have a lot of fun. Several grades were grouped together to keep the run manageable: pre-k/kindergarten/1st, 2nd/3rd, and 4th/5th.

take off without warning and would put her elbows in front
of me to make sure that I didn't get ahead of her.

100th Day of School

The kindergartners came to school as their 100-year old selves on the 100th day of school. Daphne wanted to look like Abuelita so we put her hair up in a bun and added in some baby powder to gray things up.
