Literacy Day

Tyler and Daphne's school held Literacy Day on Friday. In lieu of traditional Halloween costumes, the kids are welcome to come dressed as a literary character and they hold a parade. Tyler typically wears his Halloween costume since they are often both movie and book characters. This year I made the costumes for Literacy Day and think they turned out pretty good.

Jedi Training

Last weekend Daphne's friend Jake had an awesome Star Wars themed birthday party. Jake's mom went all out on the games and themed food. Each kid had their own brown robe and started off as a Padawan. After completing all the training they became Jedis and got to bring home their light sabers. Here is a sampling of some of the activities.

Cub-o-Ree

Last weekend we went to Cub-o-Ree at the Smilin' V Ranch in Liberty Hill. There were tons of fun activities and an Indiana Jones theme. The kids got a stamp for each activity and a sticker for each artifact they found that they got to turn in later for an arrowhead. All in all a fun day with the scouts.

Star Wars Hats

These Star Wars hats at Target are so much fun that I couldn't resist getting them for the kids.

Our Vampire

Daphne was very excited when she picked out
these pink vampire teeth from the prize box at school

Dinosaur Park

The kids had the day off school for Columbus Day so my dad took them to the Dinosaur Park in Cedar Creek while Michael and I were at work. The Dinosaur Park has a number of dinosaur statues in the woods and fun things for the kids to do.

Thank goodness the kids didn't hatch out of these eggs!

Barton Hills Farm

My dad and I took the kids to Barton Hills Farm over Columbus Day weekend. Tyler is getting a little old for some of the activities but he still humored us. Both kids loved the corn mazes. We started with the corn maze and then Tyler insisted we do the regular corn maze.

Tyler could have played tetherball all day.
