Tyler and Daphne often entertain each other as you can see from a few mornings ago at breakfast.

While watching Olympic swimming, Tyler wanted to know why there wasn't a lifeguard on duty at the pool.

Shoot for the Moon

A few nights ago Tyler and I were out in the yard watering plants. Tyler loves pointing the hose with the sprayer on the end. At one point Tyler pointed the sprayer up in the air and exclaimed, "Let's spray the moon!" And of course he eventually sprayed himself and then he giggled and giggled.

Here's a video of Tyler showing Daphne his dance moves. She was quite entertained by this. Lately Tyler particularly likes to dance to the Ramones. I wasn't aware how closely he listens to the words until later in the day when several times he busted out with, "Psycho therapy... psycho therapy...psycho therapy" to the tune of the Ramones song of that same name.

Skeptical

A few nights ago Michael and I had sushi for dinner and I made something else for Tyler. I asked Tyler if he wanted to try any of my sushi and mentioned that his buddy Calvin really likes to eat sushi. Tyler replied emphatically, "I don't know about that!"

When Daphne spit up all over her outfit this afternoon I decided it was time to break out Tyler's old Houston Rockets basketball outfit to see how the babies compare. As babies they are both definitely bruisers!

I wanted to be there!

Tyler likes the photo wall we have in our front room. He particularly seems to like our wedding photo. He asks about the wedding and then he pouts and says, "I wanted to be there!" I have tried to explain that he wasn't born yet but he can't wrap his mind around that concept yet.

Take it Easy

A few days ago I was dancing and singing along to The Eagles' "Take it Easy" while I was driving. The song was still playing on the radio when I arrived at my destination. When I was unbuckling Tyler he said (with a scowl on his face), "I don't like that song! Don't play that song again Mommy."

Puttin' on the Glitz

During nap time today, another kid bumped into some art supplies and spilled glitter all over Tyler's head and back. Tyler slept right through it and his teacher wiped off as much as she could when he woke up. Apparently all the girls really liked how sparkly Tyler was the rest of the day!

Nap Time

Swings

I had Tyler and Daphne swinging side by side at the playground today on the little kid swings with leg holes. Tyler swung fast and high while Daphne swung slow and low. It was so darn cute but I didn't have my camera with me!

Sub-Par Lego Aesthetics

Tyler and I built a Lego house today. I added some embellishments on the roof in addition to some of Tyler's embellishments. Tyler took off my roof additions and said, "I am not happy with this that way. It's not supposed to be that way." At least he is not afraid to express his opinions!

Rolling and Babbling

Daphne is quite excited about her rolling and babbling abilities. She has been practicing every chance she gets. Daphne rolls and moves so much in her crib that sometimes we have to free one of her legs from between the rails. And first thing in the morning when she wakes up she babbles non-stop until we come get her.

It's official- our house is a circus!

Even though our living room is jam-packed with kid stuff, we decided it was time to get Tyler's old circus-themed ExerSaucer out of the attic. It was an immediate hit with Daphne. Even Tyler had a ball showing Daphne all the moving parts and spinning her seat around. Daphne mostly just wants to put everything in her mouth that will reach that far!

Batman!

On Thursday morning we dropped Tyler off at daycare. Thursday evening we picked up Batman to take home with us!

Sleeping Trouble

Around 3:30 in the morning a fews day ago Tyler came in our room and wanted to sleep with us. I tucked him back into his bed and tried to fall back asleep despite Michael's snoring. Around 4 am Tyler came back and since I wanted to get sleep before work I sleepily agreed to let Tyler crawl into bed with us. After he got in our bed, Tyler sighed and complained, "Daddy's snoring!" Ultimately Tyler decided to stay in bed with us (and hog my side!) despite the snoring.

Summer in Oregon doesn't usually start until July 5th, but this year the 4th was miraculously sunny and in the 70s. The kids loved spending the day outside running around and playing.

Rockin' Out in Heels

Tyler thought it was hilarious that I left out a pair of heels. So he danced in them while brushing his teeth and rocking out to System of a Down. Heels go great with Spiderman pajamas. What a little ham! Lately when brushing his teeth Tyler wants the music louder and faster. I guess he takes after his Daddy!
